Well where did that year go? At this time of year we feel the need to wind down here at Foxholes farm but day to day tasks still need to be done whatever the time of year. The aftermath from our Christmas food tasting event means it’s important to us to make sure every single order is fulfilled and if I have not got my head deep in the fridge I try to hand out every single Christmas order myself as a way of thanking our customers for taking the time and for being such loyal customers.
Whilst our butchers add the finishing touches to preparing the Christmas orders our counters will be full to the brim with delicious cuts of beef, pork, lamb, poultry & game and although our turkey and meat order date has expired our butchery counter will always have something you’ll love. Our butchers certainly know how to make the perfect pigs in blankets and are always keen to give advice on how to cook the perfect Christmas roast. Every year we make sure our farm shop is fully stocked with seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables. Especially this month we have the all important array of Brussels sprouts, parsnips, carrots, swedes and turnips. Cranberries make an appearance in all their juicy glory, great for sauces along with figs, walnuts, dates and apricots, ready to prepare luscious turkey stuffing.
If you’re stuck for gifts why not pop in and choose your own bespoke hamper made to order or choose from our ready-made gifts. Gin, whisky, vodka and locally brewed craft beers make great gifts and if you love cheese our deli counter has a range of fine cheese and pork pies cut to order. If you’re feeling more adventurous try our 2018 butchery classes and learn the tricks of the trade for yourself.
If all the shopping gets to you, simply wind down and enjoy a glass of bubbly or a cup of tea or coffee with our Afternoon Festive High Tea (for two) served daily throughout December. Three tiers of dainty sandwiches, festive bites cakes & bakes all to be devoured in our light & airy Tea Room.
On Christmas Eve after the last of the Christmas orders have been collected and our animals are tucked away in their winter beds, we can finally spend time as a family, placing presents under the tree and reflecting on the year gone by, pour a glass of sherry and finally say CHEERS! Merry Christmas everyone! From my team and myself here at foxholes farm we would like to say a big thank you for your custom and support, we could not do this without your loyalty throughout the year and here’s to a splendid 2018!
Our butchery counters will be full to brim so there is still time to order your Christmas feast!
