  • September Blog – beautiful sunsets, harvested produce and late summer grazing. 2016

As the sun goes down over the fields we make the most of our beautiful sunsets, harvested produce and late summer grazing.

It`s incredible to think we are in the ninth month of the year and what a year its been so far. We’ve had a wonderful summer showing off all 25 acres of our farm to all our lovely visitors, which has proved very popular with adults and children.

Our Farm Park (weather permitting) will be open every day this month 10am -4pm with FREE ENTRY whilst our animal barn has a cheeky Autumn refresh!

    Farm Park Now Open

We have ended a very busy summer on a high as we’ve been nominated for three categories in The Rural Business Awards 2016: Rural Employer of the year, Rural Entrepreneur of the year and Outstanding Rural Diversification of the year, as you can imagine we are really chuffed.

Love food? Celebrate British Food fortnight from 17th September to the 2nd October, our farm shop will be hosting product tastings to celebrate all things British. Potato producers Tyrrell’s will be visiting our farm shop on Saturday 1st October 10am-3pm handing out their delicious range of crisps and snacks. We will be capturing the food mood, educating our visitors on how to get the most from local producers, sharing recipes and promoting seasonal special offers.

Make way for new seasonal fruit, apples including cookers are in season along with plums, greengages, damsons and pears. Lamb, fennel, rocket, chard and watercress make an appearance before the root vegetable season starts and with the game season about to commence, our butchery counter even has some limited stock of local grouse.

Granny Smiths Tea Room will be serving up more British classic dishes with new autumn specials using fresh ingredients from our farm shop. From traditional full English breakfast to bangers & mash or lighter bites and of course our very popular high tea for two. Join us on Friday 30th September 10am –12pm for the world’s biggest coffee morning. Team foxholes will be busy baking and serving coffee and cakes all morning raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support so pop in and help this amazing charity.
