After an incredible half term of Halloween fun on the farm, November kicks off our busiest time of the year here at Foxholes Farm. With late autumn leaves falling, muddy fields and the departure of bonfire night we can now mention that special word of the year… Christmas!
The game season is under way and our butchery counter is now stocking locally sourced pheasant, partridge and venison in the form of our fantastic burgers, sausages, mince and haunch, and with British Game week just around the corner (21st-27th November) there’s no better time to buy. Garlic is also in season and our farm shop now has in stock garlic from the Isle of Wight, we recommend these smoked, tender bulbs of subtle smokiness to transform any dish. Cauliflower, pears, celery, onions and parsnips all make an appearance this month, which you can purchase fresh from our farm shop.
The farm is now preparing to produce more home reared meat for the busier weeks ahead, the food produced is fantastic and this year will be no exception due to early planning and of course tasting. Our festivities start with our Christmas tasting extravaganza weekend and we have some amazing produce for you to taste, with a tasting table of delicious food you can make this year extra special. Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th November are the dates for your diary, 11am-3pm with Free parking and Free entry. Our farm shop will be featuring carved tastings of free range turkey, cooked ham, beef, gammon joints, chutneys and of course the ever important cheese board. Christmas puddings and mince pies to finish off all washed down with a glass of warm delicious mulled wine.
Our selection of hampers make great gifts, our corporate special at £34.99 comes beautifully wrapped in a whicker basket with our own Foxholes Farm label and containing a selection of chutneys, jams, biscuits and sauces. We have hampers to suit both gin, whisky and port lovers or try our store cupboard selection of a biscuit duo, we also have a wide selection of meat boxes and gift vouchers available.
