The dark nights may have arrived here at Foxholes Farm but we are busier than ever. The cows have settled into their winter quarters snuggling down on their fresh straw beds, insulating them from frozen ground helping to conserve their body heat for the winter months that lay ahead.
The farm shop is a “foodie” delight for local produce, this month we are stocking local pheasant, freshly wrapped ready for roasting, poaching or slow-cooking. These birds have a unique flavour and with their lean meat, making pheasant a more healthy alternative to your Sunday roast! Pheasants are in season now until mid-January, so make the most of these little gems available from our butchery counter.
After celebrating British sausage week, we are currently preparing for our annual celebration of Christmas with our tasting extravaganza, a weekend full of fantastic foodie fun. Join us here at Foxholes Farm on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of November from 11.00am to 3.00pm and sample our mouth-watering Christmas feast with all the trimmings. Our tastings will help you decide which tasty turkeys or fine cheeses, cooked hams, mince pies or Christmas puddings you wish to purchase washed down with a delicious glass of fruity warm mulled wine. A great way to try before you buy tasting local produce for a true farm to fork Christmas!
