Our farm has finally come to life as spring has finally sprung here at Foxholes Farm. So far the farm is running a few weeks behind than normal, every day we are reminded of jobs and tasks that relate to the early spring season, repairing damaged fields, making our fences stock proof and of course nurturing all our early spring arrivals. Our orphan lambs are now playing freely in the outdoor paddocks and this year we have plenty of baby goats to keep them company. Everything changes so quickly this time of year including our animals, our piglets are bigger, our chicks are fluffier and our baby goats are even more naughty.

Our farm shop team are waiting for the first delivery of British asparagus, although now in season we are not surprised if they arrive (due to weather conditions) a little late. Spring onions, radishes, rocket, watercress and gooseberries start to gradually arrive and if you love lamb we have the perfect cuts for cooking. The BBQ season is here and if you didn’t dust off your BBQ during last month’s heat wave, there is still time to fire it up. Glazed cuts of meat, burgers, steaks and kebabs are just some of the BBQ meats ready for the grill. Or why not stock up the freezer with one of our amazing BBQ meat boxes.

If you’re looking for some half term fun, our farm park will be open every day throughout the half term school holidays from 11am – 3pm and for the little ones we will be hosting our ‘Meet the Farmer’ workshops on the 30th & 31st of May 2018. Spend the morning with our award-winning farmer exploring the delights of a real working farm!

£15.95 per child includes lunch and a free goody bag. 10am – Midday. To book a space, please call our farm shop 01992 552900 (limited spaces available).

Afternoon tea is loved by everyone and what better way to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea than outside on the terrace, whilst taking in the delights of a working farm in the Hertfordshire countryside. Enjoy a homemade scone with lots of fresh clotted cream and a delicious preserve, all washed down with a fresh pot of tea served every day in Granny Smith’s Tea Room.

So as they say ‘Come what may”, make sure you take in the fresh country air and enjoy some family food and fun here at Foxholes Farm!
