February bought us the first dozen calves of the year– which are already outside on the pasture with their mothers. We still have mums to be, in our barns awaiting the births of their young throughout march. Mild the winter may have been, but incredibly wet. We are holding our breath for some dry weather, to spread manure on the fields & get the grass growing. Throughout march we shall be re-vamping pets corner & sprucing up our children’s play area in time for the Easter break.
We shall be focusing more on our own & local produce & suppliers, please keep your eyes on our Website for up-to-date news & events. On the deli, we are ever increasing our range of British cheeses, homemade pies & pasties, salami & pates. As the game season draws to a close, we have seen the last of this years seasons fresh pheasants & partridges but continue with venison until Easter. Our lovely butchers are always coming up with new & inventive sausage flavours– do pop in & try some. Don’t forget pancake day– 2nd march, also our bespoke hampers & fantastic foodie gifts for Mothers Day.
Wow!! Finally Granny Smith’s Tea Shop is now open daily between 10 am-4 pm. Serving speciality teas, freshly ground coffees, homemade cakes & biscuits, light lunches & daily hot specials.
Sit and enjoy farm life pass you by, as you sit in our comfy lounge area, or at our family tables. High chairs are provided, along with outside table & bench seating in our play area, should you wish to walk up with dogs on a sunny day.
