Already the first calves of 2013 have started being born inside our courtyard on the farm here at Foxholes. Alongside our new year’s calves, our piglets have now been weaned from their mothers. This gives mum a well-deserved rest, before springtime and being reunited with the boar.
Please feel free to don your wellies and wander around and explore!
Mothers’ Day and Easter time. Both of these events including the Easter end of term school holidays fall in March. We now have a beautiful selection of flowers, bulbs and plants available for sale, just outside our shop. They make beautiful gift ideas for that special someone. So too, our eclectic selection of chocolates and retro sweets, along with microbrewery, liqueurs, champagnes, wines, fruit wines and ciders. Also foodie gift ideas, hampers and many other gift solutions to show you’ve gone that extra mile.
With the fantastic response to our Easter chick event last year, we shall again be introducing you to our day-old chicks this year.
Our hatch is due to arrive on w/c 18th March.
Last year’s chicks have continued to lay throughout the winter months, with demand outstripping supply, so this years baby chicks will be a welcome addition to our existing birds.
Make the run up to Easter even more exciting, watching our babies grow and roam around the pastures.
Our crops and grass are already showing signs that spring is on its way with, hopefully, drier and sunnier weather too!
Web sales and click & collect have been focusing a lot of our energies this month. Our new website is almost completed. This facility will allow our customers to order online for either next day delivery nationwide or as a click & collect facility, should you be in a hurry or need someone else to collect your groceries for you. Watch our website for updates.
Hardly surprisingly, with the current scandal never seemingly far from headline news, we have seen many, many new faces inside our shop, and answered countless questions from concerned people, putting minds to rest regarding our farming methods. Own and local has always been our ethos. We have always remained loyal to the farming methods passed down to us by our late grandfather. Slow growing, home bred and fed and grass reared, free range beef and lately Saddleback Pork, reared for flavour & provenance.
Only our beef & Saddleback Pork are sold from our farm shop & local farmers markets (please check for your local event) . These too are the only meats we use for own many varieties of homemade sausages & hand pressed burgers. We are a ‘Whole Carcass Butchery’. So too, only our own meats are used for curing into Gammons & Bacons, Hams, cooked meats, meat & pork pies– all cooked & handmade in our farm shop kitchen.
Our ‘Cook’ range of ready meals, individually batch made, by hand in Kent, using only fully traceable & local ingredients has seen a significant leap in sales recently– hardly a surprise to us —they’re delicious!
Try their new Chicken Kiev, Fish & Chip and Kedgeree– Yum. Our range of Gluten Free & dietary restriction foods is always increasing as is our range of Bon Bons ‘ Retro Sweeties’ a glorious taste of the old days.
