With calves being born, our ewes due to give birth at any time and with all the new government guidelines changing, it’s no wonder we all feel exhausted even before we’ve begun. Our farm team are busy getting our Farm Park ready to welcome back visitors by making sure our Farm Park is safe and secure, ready to open from Monday 12th April. The Farm Park will be open from 11.00am with last entry at 3.30pm, visits by adults and children are on an online pre-book only basis.

As we enter the last month of the seasonal ‘food gap’, although we are fortunate to offer our customers different foods at out of season times of the year, seasonal produce is quite important to us farm shop owners. From field to fork our very own grass fed, high welfare, new season spring lamb makes an appearance. Our butchery counter will be able to prepare any cut of lamb that you require. Chops, leg, shoulder, cutlets, steaks, breast and shanks are all available online or from the butchery counter. Seasonal produce like artichokes, kale, swede, forced rhubarb and fruits like lemons, oranges, pineapples and bananas (although not grown in the uk but are still in season in the their native countries) are all available to purchase. Prawns, red mullet, lemon sole, hake and gurnard are all sustainable and in season, check out our fish selection delivered fresh every Thursday.
Treat Mum this Mother’s Day… We have a great selection of family roast dinner boxes, filled with enough food to host a family roast for six people. Or we have a selection of takeaway cream teas and hampers which make the perfect gift.
If you’re stuck on ideas for your home cooking recipes, check out Rosemary Shrager’s popular cook along every Saturday at 5pm. Rosemary has teamed up with UK farm shops to promote the freshness of local ingredients, which are all available to purchase ready for you to have fun with the family cook along every weekend. National Butchers Week is from the 8th to the 14th March and is one of the highlights of the butchery calendar. It helps to promote the great work being done by our lovely butchers who have worked throughout the pandemic and the week allows them to showcase the different cuts of meat and advise on how to prepare and cook them.
So enjoy the madness of March and we look forward to seeing you soon…
