Sizzlingly Good Beef Burgers for the Barbeque Print E-mail

Ingredients:

  • 600g fresh, free range Foxholes minced beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 slices of bread
  • Dash of mixed herbs
  • 1 free range egg
  • Salt and pepper
  • You will also need a food processor and a large mixing bowl

Method:

  1. To start with, you need to peel and roughly chop the onion (be prepared with tissues at hand!).
  2. Whiz the onion in a food processor until finely chopped and then put in to a large mixing bowl. Add to the minced beef and mix together.
  3. Now whiz the slices of bread in the processor until they resemble fine breadcrumbs and add these to the mixing bowl too.
  4. Now add the remaining ingredients - the herbs, egg and seasoning – to the mixing bowl. Get your hands in and mix all the ingredients together (great messy fun!) until the mixture bonds together.
  5. Divide the burger mixture into 6 portions and shape them in to circular discs. Place the uncooked burgers in the fridge to chill until they are firm.
  6. Now time to get cooking! Fire up the BBQ or you can fry or grill the burgers. Serve the burgers in a squidgy bun with some crisp green lettuce, slices of juicy tomatoes and some mature farmhouse cheddar cheese ... and ketchup up too of course!!

You can add other ingredients to this mix to add some variation, such as chilli flakes, crumbled stilton or cheddar.
